Hello,
I'm Corrina Ruth.

I'm a fully qualified and insured Body Control Matwork Pilates teacher, offering one-to-one, duet and small group sessions from my home studio in Reepham, at local community venues and online via Zoom.

Whether you're new to Pilates, returning after injury or illness, or managing an ongoing health condition, you're in the right place. My sessions are welcoming, supportive and, most of all, fun.

As absolute beginners, we had no idea what to expect - but her kindness, skill and unfailing good humour have made every session both informative and satisfying. I cannot recommend Corrina’s classes highly enough.

Small by design.

Body Control Matwork Pilates is built on the principle that good teaching is individual teaching. Keeping sessions small is a deliberate choice,  it means I can spend time understanding how your body moves, what feels right and what doesn't, and adapt accordingly.

Every session, in a group or one-to-one, is shaped around the person in front of me.

Find the session that works for you.

Group pilates

A maximum of eight people at community venues in Reepham and the surrounding villages. Small enough for individual guidance and corrections throughout - something simply not possible in a larger studio or gym class. All equipment provided, just wear something comfortable.

What is pilates?

Pilates is a gentle yet effective form of exercise, and, in my opinion, the perfect one. It can be as easy or as challenging as you'd like it to be, and focuses on improving strength, posture, balance, flexibility and the way your body moves every day.

There are hundreds of different exercises, most of which can be adapted to suit your individual needs, energy levels, fitness levels and health conditions. Different start positions, including Relaxation Position and Prone,  mean sessions can be tailored to what works for your body. If getting down onto a mat feels too challenging, standing or chair-based Pilates works just as effectively. Suitable for anyone aged 18 and over, and all abilities. You don't need any previous experience or special equipment to begin.

I love teaching Pilates because I've experienced first hand the difference it can make, to how you feel about your body, to your self-confidence, and to your mental and physical health. Being able to give that to my clients, helping them achieve their own goals and simply feel that they can move in a better way, is everything.

"Pilates is the complete co-ordination of the body, mind and spirit."

Corrina’s story

I didn’t come to Pilates as a fitness professional - I came to it as someone who needed it.

After ten years working as a frontline Family Practitioner in Child Protection, I was diagnosed with Relapsing and Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. The stress of that work was relentless, and I spent most of my annual leave simply trying to recover from relapses. I knew something had to change.

Around the same time I began to suffer from lower back pain, and a friend suggested I try Pilates. I went along not knowing quite what to expect.

What I found changed everything.

On days when my MS fatigue is at its worst, even simple tasks feel impossible. I’d tried walking and swimming to stay fit, but both left me exhausted for the rest of the day. Pilates was different. Even just twenty minutes didn’t affect my fatigue levels in the same way. I could move, stay fit and feel well, with the added bonus that it helped with my lower back pain by strengthening my core muscles and improving my posture.

The idea of training as a Pilates teacher started as an offhand thought on holiday in Kefalonia, something I half-mentioned to my husband Dave, half-expecting us both to dismiss it. Instead, he encouraged me to go for it, saying anything is possible.

I trained with the internationally recognised Body Control Pilates School in London. Training wasn’t without its setbacks, I suffered a major MS relapse and needed disc surgery. My rehabilitation, of course, was through Pilates. Six weeks post-operation, I was back on the mat.

I completed my training in March 2026 and opened Corrina Ruth Pilates. I continue to develop my practice and have recently completed further training in Pilates for Neurological Conditions and Pilates for the Older Person through Body Control Pilates. Everything I teach is rooted in what I know from the inside out: that movement is possible for every body, at every level, on every kind of day.

In their own words.

Every client who walks through the door comes with their own story. Here are a few of theirs.

I had a lovely Pilates class and could not recommend Ruth enough. She made sure to take her time to explain each exercise and explains everything really clearly. I felt completely comfortable and supported throughout the class, and you can tell she genuinely cares about helping you get the most out of each session, whilst making sure you are doing everything correctly. Cannot wait for my next session!

“My friends and I started Pilates with Corrina 6 weeks ago and we have thoroughly enjoyed her classes. As absolute beginners, we had no idea what to expect but her approach of kindness, skill and unfailing good humour has ensured that we have had both an informative and satisfying exercise session. Countless calls of "when shall I breathe and, is this quite right" are met with calm guidance and a smile, I cannot recommend Corrina's classes highly enough.”

Carol

After having surgery I questioned my physio and she recommended Pilates. It was lovely to find a beginners class as I was a complete novice. Corrina was very welcoming, patient and knowledgeable. The class was small so she had the time to interact with us all which I have found very beneficial and reassuring. I would highly recommend Corrina.

Sarah

As a complete beginner, Corrina has taken the time to make sure I am doing things correctly.

Claudia

I am a complete novice and at all times Corrina has given me the time and confidence to properly enjoy the classes. Thank you for your patience Corrina.

Jackie

I've loved my 1-1 Pilates sessions with Corrina. As a complete newbie to Pilates, I was apprehensive about joining a busy class so -1-1 sessions with Corrina were ideal. Corrina explained everything so clearly and put me at ease at every session. As I have a knee injury, Corrina tailored each session for me and was incredibly mindful to avoid any moves that could aggravate it. I really loved every session and certainly noticed an improvement. I'm so glad that I had the 1-1's - they enabled me to ask questions and have all the time and attention needed from someone who is incredibly knowledgeable in their field ! Thanks Corrina.

Eva

I have previously done Pilates but I really like Corrina's style in that she looks at everyone individually rather than the whole class.
